Coaches’ Working Committee

MANDATE

To promote and develop the coaching and technical aspects of football.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Committee is responsible for preparing, monitoring, evaluating, and revising the National Coaches’ Certification Program (NCCP), presenting progress reports and recommendations for the NCCP to the Football Canada Board of Directors, advising Football Canada and member organizations on technical aspects of football, and promoting football throughout Canada and abroad.

Touch Working Committee

MANDATE

To develop programs and projects for amateur touch football in order to encourage participation, to promote physical fitness, to encourage ethical and safe play, to develop growth and excellence in the game of touch football, and, to provide recreational, developmental and competitive opportunities in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Touch Working Committee is responsible for developing, and monitoring programs and projects in order to meet the needs of the above mandate.  The Committee, through its Chairperson, is responsible for providing progress reports and recommendations to the Football Canada Board of Directors annually. The Committee will liaise with other Football Canada Committees to create complementary and technically consistent programs, while promoting amateur football throughout Canada.

Tackle Working Committee

MANDATE

To develop programs and projects for amateur tackle football in order to encourage participation, to promote physical fitness, to encourage ethical and safe play, to develop growth and excellence in the game of tackle football, and, to provide recreational, developmental and competitive opportunities in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tackle Working Committee is responsible for developing, and monitoring programs and projects in order to meet the needs of the above mandate.  The Committee, through its Chairperson, is responsible for providing progress reports and recommendations to the Football Canada Board of Directors annually. The Committee is responsible for developing and monitoring the policies, procedures and organizational guidelines related to the on-field activities of Football Canada Cup, and overseeing the implementation of this event.  The Committee will liaise with other Football Canada Committees to create complementary and technically consistent programs, while promoting amateur football throughout Canada.

Officials’ Technical Committee

MANDATE

To develop and improve the abilities and performance of tackle officials in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Officials’ Technical Committee is responsible for developing program and training aids to improve and standardize tackle football officiating in Canada at the amateur level

Touch Officials’/Rules Committee

MANDATE

To develop a rule book for the game of touch football, as well as supervise the administration of the official rules and promote the welfare of the game of touch football.  To develop and improve the abilities and performance of touch officials in Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Touch Officials’/Rules Committee is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, revising, editing, and interpreting the Canadian Rule Book for Touch Football on a bi-annual basis.  The Touch Officials’/Rules Committee is also responsible for developing program and training aids to improve and standardize touch football officiating in Canada at the amateur level.

MANDATE

To develop a rule book for the game of tackle football, as well as supervise the administration of the official rules and promote the welfare of the game of tackle football.

The Tackle Rules Committee is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, revising, editing, and interpreting the Canadian Rule Book for Tackle Football on a bi-annual basis.

Equipment Fitting & Maintenance Committee

MANDATE

To develop resources and programs that assist in the proper fitting and maintenance of football equipment for the Canadian amateur football community.

To recommend changes, revisions, and modifications to the design, fitting, and maintenance of football equipment that improves the level of protection and safety to the participant.

COMMITTEE COMPOSITION

The committee is to be comprised of experts in the field of equipment maintenance, fitting, and/or design and manufacturing.  Due to the nature of the committee, as a committee of experts, members will be sought by the Board of Directors of Football Canada.  New members will be appointed to the committee based on their experience, knowledge, and area of expertise.  Additional resource people or experts will be called upon to assist the committee as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The committee is responsible for the following:

  • Revising and updating resource materials regarding proper fit, care, and maintenance of
    football equipment (i.e. the Purchasing and Maintaining Football Equipment resource material)
  • Developing a course / program that instructs individuals of the proper fitting and maintenance
    of football equipment.
  • Collecting and disseminating to the Board of Directors of Football Canada information from
    other resources and organization such as the CSA, NOCSAE, and the football equipment
    manufacturers.

Flag Football Development Committee


MANDATE

To develop programs and projects for amateur flag football in order to encourage participation, to promote physical fitness, to encourage ethical and safe play, to develop growth and excellence in the game of flag football, and, to provide recreational, developmental and competitive opportunities in Canada.

The Flag Football Development Committee is responsible for developing, and monitoring programs and projects in order to meet the needs of the above mandate.  The Committee, through its Chairperson, is responsible for providing progress reports and recommendations to the Football Canada Board of Directors annually. The Committee will liaise with other Football Canada Committees to create complementary and technically consistent programs, while promoting amateur football throughout Canada.
