PROGRAMS
Football Canada has developed and is committed to the following programs:
Officials - describes the nationally recognized standard for officials' training and certification in Canada.
National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) – describes the nationally recognized standard for coach training and certification in Canada.
Anti-Doping Program - describes the awareness and education programs that reflect drug-free sport and anti-doping which includes the use of prohibited substances and/or prohibited methods. Also outlines the doping control program of the Canadian Anti-Doping Program and its management, in cooperation with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES).
True Sport - is a national Movement of communities and groups across Canada working to ensure a positive, meaningful and enriching experience for all who participate in sport. The True Sport Movement is based on the belief that good sport can help build lasting strengths in individuals, as well as healthy, vibrant communities and a more socially connected Canada. At the heart of True Sport there are four core values: fairness, excellence, inclusion and fun.
Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) – focuses on the general framework of athlete development with special reference to growth, maturation, and development.
Women in Football – identifies the various developmental areas that Football Canada is focusing on to increase female participation in football at all levels – as athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers.
Aboriginal Sport Development – sets out the mandates of the Aboriginal Sport Circle and Football Canada’s partnership with Canada’s Aboriginal Sport Community to develop and implement Flag Football Programs across the country.
Athletes with a Disability – describes the various programs offered by Special Olympics Canada and Football Canada’s partnership with Special Olympics PEI and the introduction of the Flag Football Program.
Football Canada Committees – sets out the mandates and responsibilities of the various Football Canada Working Committees.
Human Kinetics - Football Canada has partnered with Human Kinetics Publishing Company to bring Football related educational resources to its members. The partnership program will provide the opportunity for individuals to conveniently access resource material, which might otherwise not be available and at the same time provide some financial support to their participating football “member” association.
SIRCUIT - Football Canada, in partnership with the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC), provides an electronic news and information service to members of Football Canada who register to receive the service.
