2011 TACKLE RULE CHANGES FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION AND IMPLEMENTATION

 
(August 10, 2011) The following rule clarifications and corrections, approved by the Tackle Rules Committee, are for immediate distribution and implementation. (The changes are italicized and in bold type). They will be added to the next printed edition of the Rule Book due in April / May 2012.
 

OFFICIALS KERR AND EASTON TO REPRESENT FOOTBALL CANADA IN AUSTRIA

In addition to the players and coaches representing Canada at the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Senior Men’s World Championship in Austria, Football Canada would like to announce two additional Canadians -- Barclay Easton of Ottawa, ON and Shawn Kerr of Calgary, AB have been selected as members of the IFAF officiating crew.

JACK ANDERSON - 2010 TOM CHENEY AWARD RECIPIENT

 

This year’s deserving recipient, Jack Anderson of the New Brunswick Football Officials’ Association, was presented with this prestigious award at the CFOA Biennial Conference hosted in Winnipeg May 21-24 by the Manitoba Football Officials’ Association. The Tom Cheney award is presented by Football Canada and the Canadian Football Official’ Association to a football official for “outstanding contribution and service toward the improvement of football officiating in Canada.” For information on past winners please go HERE

Please note from the rule change release the following adjustment has been made: as a result of 1-5-1 (j) point 1-5-1(i) is deleted.  The change has been made to the rule book that will be published in May.
