SENIOR FLAG NATIONAL TEAM

The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Flag Football World Championship for Senior National Teams in Flag Football is a biannual tournament for adult players with Men's and Woman's categories. The next IFAF World Championship takes place in Sweden in 2012. Read below for details regarding how to represent Canada.

The 2010 National Canadian Teams were discovered at the Senior National Flag Team Selection Invitational April 17 - 19, 2010 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Click HERE for news on the winning teams representing Canada.

 
       
 
The National Team of 12 female players, 12 male players and 4 coaches represents Canada at the World Senior Flag Football Championships. The next biannual competition is scheduled for August 11-16, 2010 in Ottawa, Ontario.
 
Canada’s Men’s Division earned gold and the Women’s Division earned silver in the previous IFAF Senior World Championships in July, 2008.

The 1st Flag Football Senior World Championship was played at Vienna (Austria) in August 2002. Canada first participated as a host to the 4th IFAF Flag Football World Championship in St. Jean-Sur-Richelieu, QC at the Campus Fort St. Jean in 2008. 19 teams participated in the tournament from the following countries: Canada, France Denmark, Austria, Germany, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Israel, United States and Sweden in the men’s category. The women’s category included: Canada, United States, France, Mexico, Japan, Israel and Austria in the women’s category.
