Football Canada has appointed former head coach of the Western Mustangs, Larry Haylor as the head coach of the 2011 senior team. Coach Haylor is the all-time wins leader for coaches in Canadian University History. He finished his career with a record of 178 wins, 47 losses and 4 ties.
The coaching staff is made up of some of the top CIS University coaches and has gained international experience with the Junior National Team Western Mustangs football head coach and offensive coordinator Greg Marshall, a former Canadian Football League coach of the year, will serve as the offensive coordinator, while Blake Nill, head coach of the Calgary Dinos, will serve as the defensive coordinator. Joining this trio are Brian Towriss (special teams, running backs), the head coach of the Saskatchewan Huskies, Steve Sumarah (quarterbacks, receivers) of the Saint Mary’s Huskies, Jeff Cummins (defensive line), the head coach of the Acadia Axemen, and Pat Tracey (defensive backs, special teams) of the Queen’s Gaels.
